DIY Disinfecting Cleansers and Sprays for Home

The below-mentioned DIY methods are some of the necessary cleansers and sprays you need on a daily basis.

1. All-purpose Cleaner

This all-purpose cleaner can be used anywhere like cleaning mirrors, kitchen cabinets, switches, tables, and many more. Basically, it can be used almost anywhere and on anything in your home.

You’ll need:
  • Tea tree oil
  • Water
  • Dish soap
  • Spray Bottle
Method

To the spray bottle, add 3 cups of water, 10-15 drops of Tea tree essential oil, and a teaspoon of dish soap. Close the spray bottle with its cap and give it a nice shake. And you’re DIY all-purpose cleaner is ready to use.

 

2. DIY Hand Soap

Hand soap is what we need almost every2 hours to get rid of bacteria and keep our hands clean. This hand soap can be made with Almond oil that acts as a great moisturizer and some of your favorite essential oil for fragrance.

You’ll need:
  • Castile Soap
  • Distilled Water
  • Almond Oil
  • Essential Oils
  • Soap Dispenser
Method

Add a cup of distilled water to the soap dispenser. To that add a cup of castile soap, 1 tablespoon of Almond oil, and 15-20 drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance purpose. Shake the bottle until all the ingredients get thoroughly mixed and now you’re ready to wash your hands.

 

3. DIY Toilet Cleaner

Undoubtedly, this DIY toilet cleaner can keep your bathroom sinks, flush toilets, taps, and etc shiny and squeaky clean.

You’ll need:
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Water
  • Castile Soap
  • Baking soda
  • Tea tree essential Oil
  • Squirt bottle
Method

To the spray bottle, add 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of Baking soda, 1/4th cup of Castile soap, 1/4th cup of Hydrogen Peroxide, and 10-15 drops of Tea tree oil. Shake them well and apply to your flush toilet, lever, bathroom sinks, taps, and other hard surfaces. After 5 to 10 minutes, scrub as usual with your loo brush.

 

4. DIY Electronics Spray

Of course, electronic gadgets also need to be cleaned. That’s because we always keep touching them. So, the bacteria will stay on your gadgets when they’re not cleaned properly.

You’ll need:
  • Distilled Water
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Spray bottle
Method

To the spray bottle, add a quarter cup of each rubbing alcohol and water. Shake up well. Spray the mixture onto a clean cloth and wipe down your electronics gently.

 

5. DIY Counter Cleaner

When kitchen counters are filled with spills and other messy stuff, this Counter cleaner helps you to get rid of any messy particles.

You’ll need:
  • Dish Soap
  • Water
  • Essential Oil
  • Spray bottle
Method

To the spray bottle, add 2 cups of water, a teaspoon of dish soap, and 10-15 drops of Tea tree essential oil. Shake it thoroughly and now you’re good to clean your messy kitchen counters every day.

6. DIY Disinfectant Spray

A disinfectant is needed not only to keep your house clean but also to keep the bacteria away. You can use this Disinfectant spray on heavy traffic areas such as doorknobs, switches, car steering, handles, and etc.

When you’re staying at home it’s not needed to spray a disinfectant every day. When you go outside and come back home, you should use a disinfectant to keep all the viruses and bacteria away.

You’ll need:
  • Water
  • Bleach
  • Essential oil
  • Spray bottle
Method

In your spray bottle, add a cup of water, 1/2 cup of bleach, and 15 drops of either Lemon or Thyme Essential Oil. Give it a good shake and you’re ready to use.

 

7. DIY Hand Sanitizer

A much-needed product these days. Why not make your own Sanitizer according to the recommendations laid down by the WHO (World Health Organization).

You’ll need:
  • Isopropyl Alcohol
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Glycerol
  • Aloe vera Gel
  • Distilled Water
  • Squeeze Bottle
Method

All you need to do is, add 99.8% or 7515ml of isopropyl alcohol into the squeeze bottle. To that also add hydrogen peroxide 3% or 417ml, glycerol 98% or 145ml, 1 tablespoon Aloe vera gel, and fill up the bottle with distilled water. Shake well to thoroughly mix all the ingredients and it’s ready to use.
